Now everyone likes little bits of trivia about TV shows don't they? Well, we X-Philes are no different. So, with the help of The X-Files group on Facebook, I have come up with a list of things that people want to know.
There are 25 different categories, which can be found HERE, and of course, not everyone will apply to every episode. We all know Mulder loses his phone or his gun, A LOT, but not all the time. Scully wears glasses, but not in every episode.
For a running total of each occurrence, you can visit HERE. It shall be updated after I review each episode. But for now, here are the fun facts for The Pilot.
MULDER WEARS GLASSES
- It only happens once in this episode, and it's the first time we meet him down in the basement in the X-Files Office
SCULLY WEARS GLASSES
- Scully wears her glasses on the flight to Oregon while flipping through the case file
- While performing the autopsy on the body found in Ray Soames' grave
- When transcribing her autopsy findings
- When typing up her field report after they "lost time"
SCULLY IS REFERRED TO AS "DR. SCULLY."
- It happens twice in this episode, and it's Mulder who does it both times. The first is in the X-Files office when he shows her the formula for the substance found in Karen Swensen's marks
- The second happens when they are exhuming Ray Soames and Mulder asks her how he could have died of hypothermia considering the mild temperatures
MULDER EATS SUNFLOWER SEEDS
- We see Mulder chomping on his favourite snack on the car ride to the cemetery not long after they've arrived in Oregan. Of course, we don't know exactly what he's eating for a few more episodes
MULDER AND SCULLY "SHIPPER" MOMENTS
- As a huge Mulder and Scully shipper, there was no way I wasn't going to include this one.
- First, we have Scully stripping down to her indie in front of Mulder. Yes, I know its because she's scared she has the same marks as the victims, but it's still a big moment between them that she is comfortable enough around him to do this
- Second, we have the hug after the undie show. Clearly relieved that they're not the same marks as the victims,, Scully turns to Mulder for a hug, burning her head into his chest.
- Third, and this isn't really a physical moment, but I think when Mulder confides in Scully about his sister, even though he has just met her and hardly knows her, I think this is a really intimate moment between the two of them
- Four, Mulder puts his hand on Scully's lower back when leading her from Billy Miles' hospital room after taking a sample of the substance on his feet
- And finally, Scully presses her hand into Mulder's chest after the "experience" in the woods near the end of the episode
1121 OR 1013 MAKES AN APPEARANCE
- 11:21PM is the time on Scully's clock towards the end of the episode
MULDER OR SCULLY ARE INJURED OR LEFT FOR DEAD
- Scully is hit in the head and knocked to the ground by Detective Miles when in the woods
SAMANTHA IS MENTIONED
- There was no way they could get through the first episode and not mention the reason behinds Mulder's obsession. He explains to Scully what happened to his sister, Samantha, when they are in his motel room
SCULLY PERFORMS AN AUTOPSY
- Scully performs the autopsy on the body exhumed from Ray Soames' grave, which she believes to be "possibly an Orangutan."
MULDER DITCHES SCULLY
- When they hear the scream in the woods, Mulder races off ahead of Scully, completely forgetting he has a partner with him until it's all over
MULDER MENTIONS ALIEN ABDUCTION
- Mulder tells Scully he believes the victims were abducted my aliens after they discover the marks on Peggy O'Dells back
